Pineapple Margaritas

Pineapple Margaritas

Leaves and citrus slices create a festive party glass

I love margaritas and am always looking for ways to mix it up a little from the traditional classic margarita.  Pineapple juice replaces simple syrup to make this sweet refreshing tropical margarita. Adding pineapple leaves, along with lime and pineapple slices really makes this feel like a party in a glass!!

To Make the Simple Salted Rim

  • 1 tablespoon kosher sea salt
  • lime wedge

To Make the Pineapple Margaritas (makes one drink)

  • 1 1/2 ounces white tequila
  • 1/2 orange liquor (I prefer Gran Gala)
  • 2 ounces pineapple juice
  • 1 ounce lime juice (freshly squeezed)
  • Ice for shaking and serving
  • Additional lime wheels for garnish

Simple Salted Rim - Place salt in a small dish.  Run the lime wedge along the rim of the margarita glass (making the rim wet so the salt will stick).  Dip the wet rim into the salt.

Pineapple Margarita - Combine tequila, orange liquor, lime juice, pineapple juice, and a few cubes of ice in a cocktail shaker, shake and strain into an ice filled salt rimmed glass.
